About Kathryn Townsend

 My journey as an artist started late, when I was in college. I graduated with an art degree and later took studio classes at the University of Washington, the Boston Art Institute and from Jean Henry, who had a studio in San Francisco.

Between 1985 and the mid-90's I was accepted in many national competitions. Through the Art in Embassies program, several of my painting were sent overseas--to Yemen, Oman, The Bahamas, El Salvador and the Embassy to the Vatican. In the last 10 years I have taken many workshops and classes.

I now live with my husband on a cove of Puget Sound and my studio looks out on this small piece of paradise as the tide rises and falls and the light changes as the seasons and weather change in a continual moving drama--a drama perfect for the study of nature.
